Hi.

I'm Tamar Nix.

I discovered a love for functional design at a really young age and this later led me to complete a Bachelor of Textile Design at the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, and a Master’s Program in Industrial Design at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

Since then, I’ve spent the last 20 years working and exploring the field of textile product design. I started my journey at Source and then moved on to Delta Galil where I worked for a few years before I began to offer independent freelance consulting in the field of premium textile product design.  This has enabled me to become deeply acquainted with both the market and the industry.

I am also a full member of the Designers Community, a professional organization of designers in Israel; counsel in various design-related programs authorized by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor; and am a fellow volunteer in the Unistream association, an organization that encourages entrepreneurship among youth in the periphery.

Two worlds in one

The realm of textile products has its own rules as textile is completely different to plastic, wood, metal, or other materials. Based on my love and familiarity with this material, I decided to focus on the specific niche of premium textile product design and established the Tamar Nix Design Studio in 2006. Later, in 2014, I created my own signature product line boodo, a collection of high-end textile products that combine premium materials with unique design compositions.

I bring two worlds to the design process – one is creative and artistic, and the other a deep understanding of the industry and the more “practical” elements required to successfully develop a product from a concept. This results in products that both meet the constraints and requirements, but also have a unique stamp, make a statement and create a mood.

I already know how to create a great product in my field. Now I want to excite.

This is what fascinates me the most.
